Gothic House is a unique and impressive Grade II listed house situated in Upper Walmer. Dating from the Victorian era and understood to have been built in the Victorian-Gothic Purginesque style for an Admiral who was a member of the Keppel family.

The house has enjoyed a rich and well connected past. Each owner has been a respectful custodian of the property and the current owner is no exception, carefully restoring it to its former glory.

The house retains a wealth of character, of particular note is the covered verandah with Gothic Arches, and three sets of doors onto the covered terrace. It has deep skirting boards, moulded cornices and original features.

Gothic arched windows also predominate, together with high ceilings and three Victorian roof lanterns and original roof pitches, servants bell box (still working) with solid wood flooring.

Set back from the road and screened by a flint wall on three sides, the house is surprisingly light throughout with many rooms being double aspect and although the accommodation is generously proportioned, it has a very comfortable and welcoming feel.

Entering the house from the porch, double doors take you through to the impressive reception hall with generous ceiling height and excellent light which sets the tone for the house.
