We are pleased to offer you this charming country house in El Portillo de Las Cañadas, in the middle of the Teide National Park, the symbol of Tenerife.

The house was built in 1970 on a plot of 1398 m2 and has a living area of 127 m2, as well as a small warehouse with an area of 15 m2.

The property is divided on two levels as follows: On the ground floor there is a bedroom, a small living room, a kitchen, a complete bathroom and a fireplace. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a toilet and a glazed balcony.

There is no urban electricity supply in this area, so all the properties there use private power generators and receive water from tankers. In the courtyard is an underground tank with a capacity of 15 000 liters of water, which lasts for about two months. Telephone, internet and satellite TV work fine. The house has gardens and a pleasant barbecue area with direct views of the Teide. The annual property tax is only €104.

El Portillo de Las Cañadas is located at 2200 meters above sea level, above the clouds in a sunny blue sky. The average temperatures between spring and autumn are between +15 and +21 degrees during the day. In winter they are between +1 and +10 degrees, and there may be some very cold days, where temperature drops to -5 degrees with snowfall.

The property is located in an exclusive and privileged area where further residential buildings are no longer allowed to be built. All around there are a few houses and restaurants. Also the observatory of "Izaña" is very close.

In this area is the volcano Teide, with 3718 meters the highest mountain in the Canary Islands and Spain.

It is the most visited national park in Europe and currently the ninth in the world.

This park was declared a national park on January 22, 1954 in recognition of its volcanic and biological uniqueness. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2007, it has since become one of Spain's 12 treasures.
