Also in the same area, and crowning the well-known Agua Dulce beach, is the telecommunications hut that served in the 20th century as a connection for the submarine telephone cable that linked the island of La Palma with Tenerife. And in the area known as El Puertito, there are two lime kilns built at the end of the 19th century, which ceased production in the middle of the 20th century.
The municipality is home to two federated football clubs, as well as the Aregume Basketball Club and the Isla Baja Diving Club.
