Description

Charming Grade II listed seven bedroom home with former listed stables/coach house, gardens, parking and wonderful easterly views.

Description

Situated within the rural hamlet of Oxley's Green and one of only six properties, Jack Fullers is a detached Grade II listed former coaching inn, named after the 18th century politician John Fuller also known locally as Mad Jack Fuller. It enjoys far reaching easterly views over its gardens and beyond and lies about 2.8 miles to the west of the village of Robertsbridge, where there are good range of amenities, including schools, shops and mainline station with frequent services to London.

The internal accommodation features exposed timbers, beams and sandstone walls and, together with the extremely flexible former stables/coach house it amounts to over 4,300 sq ft.

The majority of the ground floor has an open plan configuration, perfect for family living and comprising; a sitting room with wood burning stove, a games room with open fireplace, a dining/breakfast room and kitchen with central island. Appliances include a range cooker, electric hob and integral dishwasher. Off the kitchen there is a good sized utility room with space for white goods and a stable door leading to the rear terrace.

Stairs lead up to the first floor where there are five bedrooms, four with wardrobe cupboards, one with an en suite shower room and one with a shower cubicle. The remaining bedrooms are served by a family bathroom. A further staircase in the oldest part of the house leads up to the second floor where there are two attic bedrooms.

Linked to the main building via a side hall is the former Grade II listed coach house and stables, an extremely versatile and vaulted 42 ft recreation space with wood burning stove, mezzanine storage area, WC and double doors to both the front and rear.

Outside, immediately to the north is a gate that opens to a gravelled area of parking, where there are two garages. The garden is laid mainly to lawn and divided, with the former car park having its own access, now also down to lawn and having several raised vegetable beds.

Location

Jack Fullers is situated within a High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village of Robertsbridge (about 2.8 miles) offers a good range of local facilities, including two general stores, a bakery, Boots chemist, doctor's surgery and dental practice, two florists, public houses, primary and secondary schools and a railway station.

More extensive shopping and leisure amenities can be found in the picturesque town of Battle (6.8 miles). Hastings (12.9 miles) and Tunbridge Wells (16.5 miles) both having period architecture, boutiques, restaurants, shopping centres and mainline stations.
