Description
A block paved driveway leads to the cottage and the front door that opens into the hallway with an understairs cupboard and access to a cloakroom and the living accommodation that includes the impressive dual aspect sitting room. This has French doors to a garden, built in cupboards and shelving, and a brick fireplace with a wood burner. The spacious kitchen/dining room has cream shaker style units and granite worktops with built in and free-standing appliances, a moveable island and an adjacent utility room.
The first floor includes a family bathroom and three double bedrooms. One has dual aspect countryside and garden views; another has a built in cupboard and the third has a vanity unit. While the top floor features a double bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, Velux window and an en suite shower.
Outside, adjacent to the parking area is a spacious cabin style office/studio with an impressive pine interior, plus two distinct garden areas so you can create a kids' play area and a separate, more tranquil environment for the adults. One area includes a garden shed, log store and space for a trampoline and playground equipment, while on the other side of the cottage is a terrace for outdoor entertaining, a lawn with tree and shrub borders and a pathway leading to the attractive pagoda style covered six person hot tub, that can be used all year round.
What the Owner says:
We love the location and the fact that, although we have the advantage of four double bedrooms, it still feels cosy. It is also quiet and peaceful, with the only sound at night being the resident owl, yet we are not isolated. We love having the fields opposite and being able to walk through orchards to the local village pubs.
The historic high street in Brenchley includes some houses dating from the 1200s including the Old Palace that now houses the local post office and stationers. There is a good primary school, two excellent cafes and the Halfway House, a quintessential village pub that has won the CAMRA Best West Kent Pub award for more than 20 years. Nearby Matfield is a friendly place with another village green, two pubs, a butcher's shop and the village hall with a post office and regular activities.
The nearest station is Paddock Wood which is about three miles away and where trains to London take between 40 minutes and an hour. The town also includes high street stores, individual shops, bars, and restaurants as well as two primary schools and a good secondary school. Tunbridge Wells provides excellent additional educational facilities including a number of primary and secondary schools rated Outstanding by Ofsted and first class private schools.
