Description

The present property is located in the most sought after district of the medieval town of Rhodes where the Knights of the Order of St. John resided in this part of the town.
Various elements such as the four fireplaces, the styles of construction and sizes in the stonework testify to the long history of the medieval town Rhodes. Four periods: Byzantine (the property borders the Byzantine wall), Middle Ages (Knights), Ottoman and finally Italian occupation.
The materials that have been incorporated in the current properties, highlight the history of the property including the terracotta and timber from the 16th and 17th centuries which were brought from Italy.
Entering the ground floor is a large open space which can be configured as the first living room. Opposite the entrance, there are three separate areas of different sizes that can be used in a variety of ways and two fully equipped, brand new bathrooms.
A specially constructed staircase made up of stone, wood, metal and glass lead to the first floor where a similar sized open space as the ground floor, can be found. Here again is a presence of wood and welcoming sunlight, thanks to the west orientation of the property. From here, the palace of the Grand Master, the minaret from the Suleiman Mosque and the clock tower can be seen.
In this area there are respectively three different sized rooms that can be configured as sleeping or office spaces and two fully equipped modern bathrooms.

A wooden staircase leads to the rooftop of the property from where, in addition to the three aforementioned historical monuments which are visible from the windows of the first floor, there is a panoramic view of the entire Old Town stretching as far as the harbour.
Location: Located next to the main town of Rhodes, north of the island, 13km from the International airport of Rhodes and also next to the main harbour.
Unique features: The Medieval Old Town of Rhodes is one of the best preserved citadels in Europe which in 1988 was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When entering the Old Town one steps into another era with numerous alleyways and historical landmarks to discover. One of the most obvious sights is the Grand Master’s Palace (15th. Century) which can be approached from the famous cobbled Street of the Knights. With a mixture of minarets from the Ottoman period, medieval structures from the Italian period, an assortment of tourist shops and watering holes for a cosmopolitan nightlife, the Old Town offers endless fascination in its own individual orb.
Accessibility: Access into the Old Town of Rhodes is permitted only for residents who have their own vehicles. There are electric taxis that take passengers from the gates of the Old Town inside the walls.
Investment potential: As there is only limited space available, plot prices are very high. Prices are therefore highly dependent on the state of the relevant plot or building.
