The unique lake of Kournas is only 1.5 km away (a walkable distance) where many tavernas offer the chance to explore the traditional Cretan cuisine and the visitors can also go around the lake, whose depth is still unknown, by paddle boats. The airport of Chania is 48 km away while the port of Souda is 33 km. The city of Rethymno is only 23 km away and Chania 41 km.
