Location
Compton Dundon is a popular historic village which was owned since before the Doomsday Book by Glastonbury Abbey. It stands between an Iron Age Fort, Dundon Beacon, to the west, and the Hood Monument on the wooded hills to the east. The small village of mainly individual period and modern houses has blended and created a very friendly and interesting community.

The popular towns of Somerton, to the south, and Street and Glastonbury to the north provide a wide range of commercial, cultural, social and sporting faculties and amenities together with a wide range of excellent state and independent schools.

Communications are good with easy access to the (A303, London road) and a fast train service from Castle Cary station.

The Barns
This area is in a very quiet position, well away from the main road and with virtually no through traffic. Close by are access points to a vast network of paths through the beautiful surrounding countryside including extensive woodland.
The Barns is a small group of just 7 individual high quality properties within traditional courtyard settings.

Description
Wisteria Lodge is a handsome detached three storey house with blue lias stone and rendered elevations under slated roofs. Built to high standards it has air source heat pump under floor heating, ultrafast fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen and several bathrooms.

Designed with account for contemporary living, it focuses on accommodation for family, entertaining and private spaces.
The large central hall is the hub of the house and has the impressive staircase, a cloakroom and a utility room, doubling as a boot room, and which sensibly links to the large integral garage with its electric door.

Double doors open from the hall into the stunning 43ft. open plan kitchen/dining/living room. In the living and dining area is a large wood burning stove and there’s plenty of space for a dining table plus comfortable chairs and sofas.

A full width archway opens to the kitchen which has a high pitched ceiling and tall windows and bifolding doors to a terrace. These widows and doors, together with Velux roof lights, flood the rooms with sunlight.

The kitchen is very impressive with extensive units, a huge central island and not least and exceptional range of integrated appliances including tall fridge and freezer, 3 ovens, hob, extractor, dishwasher and wine fridge.

Also on the ground floor are a study and a sitting room with French doors to the garden, as well and the very handy separate utility room.

A fine and impressive staircase rises from the hall through the house and serves the first and second floors. These provide a main bedroom suite with dressing room and shower room, a guest suite with shower room and three further bedrooms plus a further shower room and bathroom – all well-appointed.
