The village of Invermoriston is well known for waterfalls and rapids. There is an excellent hotel with a bar and bistro as well as a community shop selling local produce. Further amenities including a health centre, supermarket, post office, garage, hardware store and shops, as well as restaurants are located at nearby Fort Augustus.
The village is just 28 miles from Inverness which has all the facilities of a modern city including a mainline train station with a direct train to London and an overnight sleeper. Inverness Airport, to the east of the city, provides several flights a day to London as well as other UK and European destinations.
