Menaggio is a charming village located on the western shore of Lake Como, easy to reach from all Milan airports in about one hour and a half (from Malpensa even less). Its central position makes it the ideal starting point to explore the whole lake and at the same time it is a lively town, with shops, ice cream shops, restaurants and cafés. Strolling along Menaggio's lovely lake side promenade enjoying the stunning view of the lake surrounded by its lovely mountains is a heartwarming experience. In the historical centre of Menaggio there are many interesting monuments which recall its importance throughout the ages. Narrow cobble stoned alleys lead up to the area called "Castello", the medieval part of Menaggio. The Lido di Menaggio with its beautiful swimming pool and beach with a spectacular view of the lake is ideal for a relaxing day. Menaggio is an ideal place to rent a motor boat or kayak too. If you like hiking, there are a number of spectacular hikes in the surrounding mountains and a refuge with one of the most beautiful views of Lake Como. The second oldest Golf of Italy was founded here in 1906.
