Piperkovo is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in the Municipality of Tsenovo, District of Ruse.
The Village of Piperkovo is located only 4 miles away from the Municipal centre - Tsenovo and 13 miles away from the Town of Byala, 16 miles from the Town of Svishtov and 17 miles from the Town of Borovo. It is also very close to the District Centre the City of Ruse - 35 miles away, which is the biggest Bulgarian city and port on the Danube River and a popular tourist destination.
The village has a population of 211 residents, according to the latest census. There is a village hall, a post office, an active community centre that promotes Bulgarian traditions and folklore, a 150-year-old Orthodox church, shops. There is regular bus transport to the neighbouring settlements.
It is considered that the settlement was established in the 1st century BC. According to an old local legend, the first inhabitant of the village was a pepper-monger - a person who sold pepper door-to-door, and from there originates the name of the village - "piper" ( ) means pepper in Bulgarian.
In May 2023, the locals celebrated the 150th anniversary of the village church "St. Archangel Mihail". The church was built over several years and almost the entire local population was involved in the construction. Stonemasons who arrived in the village after the completion of the construction of the bridge over the Yantra River of the famous builder Kolyo Ficheto also provided invaluable help. To cast the church bell, the people of the village voluntarily collected all the copper objects and melted them

MUNICIPALITY OF TSENOVO
Municipality of Tsenovo is located in Northern Bulgaria and is one of the constituent municipalities of District of Ruse. Its borders are as follows: to the east - Municipality of Borovo; to the south - Municipality of Byala; to the southwest - Municipality of Polski Trambesh, District of Veliko Tarnovo; to the west - Municipality of Svishtov, District of Veliko Tarnovo; to the north - Republic of Romania.
Municipality of Tsenovo is situated along the lower Yantra River in the Danube Hilly Plain.

The open archaeological excavations are the remains of a Roman and early Byzantine city destroyed by the Avars at the beginning of the 7th century. On its ruins in the 7th - 8th century, there is a Bulgarian settlement protected by a massive stone fence with towers built outwards. In 1958 the eastern gate, public and private buildings, two old Christian basilicas were found, many iron swords, ceramics, X-century gold coins, tools of labor, etc. were found. Only 1 mile north of the village of Belyanovo, carved in the rocky right bank of the Yantra River, a rock church with frescoes was discovered. Only 1 mile to the north of the village of Karamanovo were found tombstones in Latin. Only 1 mile to the west and southwest of the village of Novgrad were discovered various archaeological finds: stone satin phases, chrome, tools of labor and agricultural tools of stone, flint, bone, bronze, iron, fibulae, applications, emperor Justin (565-578) pieces of various dishes. In the vicinity of Tsenovo, a treasure of gold and silver crockery, two silver bracelets, a ring with inscription, fibula, silver trim and 1200 coins was discovered in the Guttula locality.

- Ethnographic museum in the village of Novgrad - consisting of 9 halls, revealing the livelihood, the lifestyle and the culture of the region. - Bust monument of Dimitar Apostolov Tsenov in the village of Tsenovo;
- Lenin Monument in the village of Novgrad - the only settlement in Bulgaria whose centre has a preserved monument of Lenin in full height;
- A rope bridge over the Yantra River - built in 1968. It is the longest rope bridge in northern Bulgaria over the Yantra River, connecting the villages of Novgrad and Belianovo. This bridge is only for pedestrians;
- The Iron Bridge over the Yantra River - located less than 1 mile east of the village of Tsenovo. The bridge is 85 metres long and 30 metres wide;
- Orthodox Cross "Monument Symbol" - located in the immediate vicinity of the village of Tsenovo in the southeast of the "Bog Bair" area. The monument is in the form of an orthodox cross, 18 metres high. It is illuminated at night and symbolizes the faith of the people.
- Historical reserve Tekir Dere - located near the town of Svishtov, about 14 miles from the village of Tsenovo.

** Natural Park "Rusenski Lom" - The Rusenski Lom River Valley, along with its tributaries Beli (White), Malki (Little) and Cherni (Black) Lom represents a unique world in itself in which the amazing nature is entwined into out remote past history. Part of the valley was proclaimed a Natural Park. The park is located at about 20 km to the south-west from Ruse. It was created in 1970 with the purpose of preserving the canyons of the three rivers, their flora, fauna and historical landmarks. The rivers have created incredibly beautiful gorges into the limestone rock foundation. It is genuine joy for the eyes and real paradise for rock climbers.
** Natural landmark "Orlova Chuka" Cave - located on the left shore of the Cherni Lom river. It's the 2nd longest cave in Bulgaria (13 438 m in length), representing a complex labyrinth of interweaving galleries, tunnels, abysses, big and small halls.
** Lipnik Forest Park: the park is a big site for recreation, sports, tourism, sunbathing and all other kinds of entertainment, situated at the distance of 12 km east of Ruse. There are country houses, restaurants, artificial lakes, a hotel, a zoo corner, a sports base and a camping site. Its serenity and fresh air attract citizens & foreigners.
