Rouen, situated on the banks of the River Seine is Normandy’s vibrant, historic and cultural capital. Rouen Cathedral, the Gros Horloge clock tower, and the beautiful modern church dedicated to Joan of Arc are its most famous landmarks. What it also has is cool cafés, vintage furniture and bric-a-brac shops, modern museums and streets bursting with buzzy bistros and Michelin-starred restaurants. Rouen is easy to get to from the UK with Dieppe and Le Havre ferry ports being both within easy reach.
