In total, Casa Guttuso offers 74m2 of habitable space, split into five rooms. The ground floor has a high-ceilinged front room, with three glazed door panels opening onto the street outside. To the rear is an internal space accessed through an archway, which would make a fine guest room or an extension to the living area.

The main bedroom is on the first floor, a large room similarly divided in two. There is lots of room to create a spacious bathroom and a walk-in closet. On the top floor there is a kitchen which opens through what is currently a single door to the terrace. If you can widen that and put in some French windows you'll have a beautiful bright space in which to cook and eat which both indoors and out. Even better, if faces South and the building opposite is only on two storeys, so you'll get a lot of direct sunshine all day long.



RENOVATION GOALS
It's going to be necessary to redo the roof, which isn't in great condition, and as you'd expect of an unrestored home of this age, to start from scratch with wiring and plumbing. Once you've done that though, installed a bathroom and kitchen and decorated, you will have a lovely property.

PRACTICAL LOCATION WITH GREAT TRANSPORT LINKS
The driving distance to Palermo is only twenty minutes, and Bagheria's train station, about two kilometres from your front door, will take you there in about the same time. From here, or by the nearby motorway, you can also head east towards Cefalù and Messina, or south down to Agrigento.
