Description

A Grade II listed four bedroom attached barn conversion, rebuilt and fully refurbished in 2017, with private enclosed gardens, a garage and driveway parking for several cars. The property is a combination of brick and featherboard elevations under a clay tiled roof and has been restored and rebuilt with careful attention taken to blending period traditional features, including high part vaulted ceilings and beams and timbers, with modern contemporary style fittings, largely by Porcelonosa. These include exposed porcelain floor tiles with underfloor heating, a contemporary style kitchen and white sanitaryware in the ground floor family bathroom and four en suites.

The property is at the far end of a principal driveway which serves three properties. A remotely operated five bar gate leads into a private gravel driveway which provides parking and access to a detached brick built garage, which is entered via twin timber sliding doors, and has power connected.

Entrance Hall and Principal Bedroom

A full length glazed door leads into the hall which has exposed porcelain floor tiles with underfloor heating which continues throughout the ground floor rooms. A utility cupboard houses the wall mounted gas boiler and pressurised hot water cylinder and has space and plumbing for a washing machine and tumble dryer. Doors lead to the bathroom, and the principal bedroom which has fitted wardrobes and an en suite. A full turn staircase with storage space beneath leads to a mezzanine landing with access to two bedrooms, both with an en suite.

Sitting Room and Kitchen/Dining/Family Room

The open plan kitchen/dining/family room is fitted in a range of contemporary style cabinets by Porcelanosa including a central island unit with a breakfast bar. Quartz work surfaces incorporate a sink and drainer. Integrated appliances include an induction hob with extractor above, and a dishwasher and there is space for an American style fridge/freezer. Bi fold doors lead to the garden at the front. The adjoining sitting room has the same high vaulted beamed ceiling, views to the front, and a door to the guest bedroom and en suite.

Gardens

By the drive on entry there is a shaped lawned with mature trees inset and a high hedge on the boundary. The main part of the garden wraps around the front and side of the property, and includes a raised paved patio, a shaped lawn with a gravel path around the edge and a gated access to the front. It is enclosed by a combination of close boarded fencing and mature hedgerow which provide screening and privacy.

Situation and Schooling

Renhold village is to the north of the River Great Ouse and has a lower school, church, a public house and a village store. The ruins of Renhold Castle have been designated a Scheduled Monument. Education is provided by schools in Bedford, 4 miles away, including the Harpur Trust schools. Further afield is Kimbolton School to the north east. The village is within a short drive of the Bedford bypass (A421) which provides access to Junction 13 of the M1, Milton Keynes to the west and the A1 and Cambridge to the east.
