Description

This characterful barn was converted about 30 years ago and is ideally located in Kingston village only about eight miles from Canterbury.

It has a delightful original brickwork and traditional clapboard exterior and is approached through a gated entrance leading to a gravel driveway and a double carport with a guest suite above. The front door opens into a welcoming, partially double height entrance hall with exposed beams and half height brick walls and the original herringbone brick floor tiles. There is also an understairs cupboard, pine doors, a large store cupboard, a cloakroom and an open archway to the snug. Virtually all the rooms in the original barn feature exposed beams, including the snug that also has wood flooring while the triple aspect sitting room has half height brick walls with wall beams and a dual fuel burner.

The spacious and contemporary dual aspect kitchen/breakfast room includes French doors onto the driveway, a plethora of flat fronted units with Corian worktops housing numerous appliances and a central island/breakfast bar. There is an adjacent utility room and a wide arch to the gorgeous dining area with its brick and beamed walls, while the family room with its impressive inglenook fireplace is just the place to relax.

Off the beamed and galleried landing there is a family shower room and four double bedrooms including one with a vaulted ceiling and an ensuite bathroom and two with built in cupboards. The main bedroom has a high vaulted ceiling, charming beams framing the bed, an ensuite bathroom and a walk-in dressing room.

The guest bedroom above the double carport includes a shower room. Outside there is a small courtyard area and a large lawn bordered by a high hedge.
