Description

A unique and picturesque detached house of 2690 square feet, just two miles from Tarporley and within half an hour walk of Bunbury, with double garage, garden and paddocks, in total circa 2.5 acres.
Comment from Robert Reed of Gascoigne Halman

This is a property of very considerable distinction and is one that means a lot to me personally, having overseen its sale to the present owners twenty one years ago. It has become a treasured family home since that point and has been subject to huge investments of time, thought and capital both internally and externally. The result is a beautiful home of character that is substantial yet cosy, old yet tastefully contemporary whilst being set in a grounds that are over two acres, yet relatively manageable. It is offered to the market at both a competitive price and with no ongoing chain.

The detached house is at the head of a small select development of just six individual houses, all of which have a striking and significant visual appeal due to their Tudor appearance and styling and date from circa 1888. Despite its rural feel, the property is only two miles from Tarporley village and within a half hour walk of Bunbury Church and the adjoining Dysart Arms, one of the most popular pub restaurants in the locality.

There are also excellent walks on the doorstep, without the need to get in the car. In addition to walks along the nearby canal and across open fields via a network of public footpaths.

The property itself is known as the Clock House and with that in mind I venture to suggest that it is TIME you booked in to see it! Internally, this is a house that has a really terrific atmosphere, is packed with a fabulous range of period features and offers and appealing design that optimises living space and comfort.

In terms of the character of the building, there are attractive beams throughout and lovely fireplaces, with both the main reception rooms having wood burning stoves. The reception hall gets the house off to a luxurious and spacious start whilst the bespoke Brownlows kitchen is of supreme quality, has a timeless look and feel and also overlooks the main area of garden.

In total there are five double bedrooms, one of which is at on the ground floor and has an en suite shower room. The other four bedrooms are served by two en suites plus an additional high specification shower room. By virtue of having two staircases, the house provides a particularly versatile footprint that can be adapted to suit individual needs. The overall size is 2690 square feet.
Externally there is a gated private driveway, detached double garage, ample turning space and added in more recent times, paddocks that extend to over two acres and opening up the possibility of donkeys, ponies, alpackers or horses. Or simply great fields to walk the dog in! The external environment is impressively private, mature and secluded.

This is a home worthy of the highest levels of approbation.
