Description
#TheGardenOfEngland
A delightful unlisted detached house circa 1715 with later additions situated in a peaceful valley location with glorious views over fields and large gardens.
The property is situated within the peaceful, rural hamlet of North Elham about a mile outside of the historic village of Elham.
A particularly attractive period house with flexible accommodation full of character and with plenty of further scope and potential.
Many rooms enjoy views over the gardens and to valley countryside beyond. There is an ‘Aga’ in the kitchen and a multi fuel stove in the family room.
The house was extended as recently as 2004 when a Septic tank was also installed, and more recently a replacement oil fired boiler was fitted outside of the house. Further renovations have been complted in recent months.
Externally, the house is well connected to the large gardens laid to lawns meandering through a variety of trees including Beech, Hornbeam, Field Maple, Pine, Magnolia and Bramley Apple. There is a poultry run, pond, storage sheds and a vegetable garden with raised beds. The gardens also enjoy views out over the valley fields.
There are many country walks and rides around the Elham Valley and adjacent to the house. This scenic locality affords some of the most attractive countryside on the North Downs well away from major roads and housing development.
The village of Elham is very pretty with a square and parish church, pubs, restaurant and shops. There is a cricket green, tennis courts, primary school and many community activities along with regular bus services to Folkestone and Canterbury.
