CARAPELLE CALVISIO - L-AQUILA PROVINCE

This delightful village is 910 metres above sea level and is located in the Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. Carapelle Calvisio is surrounded by mountains and wooded hills, covered in oaks and pines, and is renowned for its truffles.

The village-s historic heart preserves, almost intact, its ancient urban structure of a medieval fortified village, with houses leaning against each other and separated be narrow alleys. One of the ramparts was subsequently used in the building of the parish church.
