History
Taverham Hall is a historic Grade II Listed property built for Reverand Nathaniel Mickelthwait as his principal residence around 1860. The hall has served various purposes over the years, including as a private residence and a school. The hall was originally a manor house, and over time, it was rebuilt and expanded by different owners, and surrounded by 100 acres of extensive parkland and woodlands. In 1920, Taverham Hall became a preparatory school, a role it continues to serve today. Taverham Hall School was founded to provide education for young boys (later becoming co-educational), and it developed a strong reputation for academic and sporting excellence. Today, Taverham Hall is home to Langley Preparatory School, an independent day and boarding school for children aged 2 to 13. The estate retains its historic charm, with the hall and surrounding parkland forming an integral part of the school`s identity.
