Entering the property from the gravel parking area you arrive in the central hallway. The hall leads to the bedrooms on the left and the fantastic open plan living space on the right. This reception area is a wonderful hub for the property, offering a double height space with beautiful exposed beams and a log burning stove at its heart. The space also contains the well-crafted fitted kitchen, along with space for a dining table and separate seating area. There are lovely views to the nearby coastline out of the window in the end wall, with windows to two other sides bringing in plenty of natural light. The master bedroom also has its own ensuite shower room, which has a door to the original external staircase.

Externally, the property enjoys a good-sized gravel parking area and has its own private garden to the north of the cottage which offers a sizeable lawn, ample seating areas, a treehouse and impressive views of the coastline over the surrounding countryside. The Carthouse is set on the stunning northern Pembrokeshire coastline halfway between St Davids and Fishguard with the county town of Haverfordwest also within easy reach. The cottage is also within walking distance of the coastal community and beach at Abercastle which around ten minutes' walk to the north. This magnificent stretch of coastline is renowned for its impressive cliffs and sheltered coves and offers a superb backdrop to the property.

This beautiful location is matched by the warmth and welcome of this lovely cottage which would be a delight to return to after a hard day on the beach. For anyone looking for a perfect holiday bolt hole or profitable letting property, The Carthouse is a wonderful find.

Bedroom Three

This double bedroom is found at the rear of the home and has a rooflight above and a window to the side with views of the sea over the gardens. Currently set up as a children's bedroom, the property offers ample space for furniture and would comfortably take a double bed if needed.

Family Bathroom

The bathroom offers a corner shower, lavatory, bath, heated towel rail, and hand basin set on a vanity unit. The bathroom has a statement tile to the floor and an obscured glass window to the side of the home.

Bedroom One

The magical master bedroom is a wonderful space in the home. The bedroom is accessed directly from the staircase that leads up from the hallway and boasts a charming double height ceiling with exposed beams. The room has windows to three sides along with whitewashed stonework and a feature timber wall to the rear. In this timber rear wall there is a door to a built-in cupboard with another leading into the ensuite shower room.

En Suite Shower Room

Another very well presented space in the home, this ensuite shower room offers a lavatory, hand basin set on a vanity unit, heated towel rail, and walk-in shower. The shower room also has an airing cupboard, a window to the side and a door leading out to the original external stone staircase that leads down the side of the home.

External

The property has a large gravel parking area to the fore, which also provides a perfect space to catch the morning sun. To the southern end of the cottage, you find the original external staircase which leads up to the master ensuite. To the rear of the property is a lockable shed.

A gate to the northern end of the cottage leads you into a lovely enclosed garden which is mostly laid to lawn. The garden leads around to the rear of the home where you find an inviting sheltered area to sit and enjoy. The garden area also includes a children's treehouse area along with several seats and benches. An ever-present backdrop to the gardens is the expanse of fields rolling down to the nearby coast, where the sea shimmers in the sunlight.

Directions

Approaching the property from the east or south, head towards Mathry on the A487. Proceed past the village and head west on the A487 towards St Davids. As you enter the small community of Square and Compass, take the first right just after the village sign. Follow this country lane as it heads north towards the coast for just under a mile. When you reach a tight hairpin bend, turn left onto the rough driveway that heads north. Take the second driveway to the left that is signposted for The Carthouse.

Proceed on this driveway, crossing a cattlegrid and a field, until you reach a small collection of farm buildings. Proceed straight ahead, crossing another cattle grid you arrive outside The Carthouse.
