Description
Interior - Stepping into the cottage, you are immediately greeted by its character and charm. The inviting living room features a beamed ceiling and a stunning stone fireplace housing a log-burning stove. A small hallway, with stairs leading to the first floor, connects to the kitchen, which embraces a classic cottage style with fitted cabinets, solid wooden worktops, and a Belfast sink. The kitchen includes a gas cooker, while the understairs cupboard provides space for a fridge/freezer. Plumbing for a washing machine is conveniently located in an outbuilding just outside the back door.
Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom boasts a wooden fire surround with a cast iron inset, adding to the period charm. There is also a second smaller bedroom and a fitted bathroom.
Exterior - To the front, there is communal parking and a small fore garden with a lawn and a seating area—perfect for relaxing. The rear garden features a right of way and further access via an alleyway leading to the front. A brick outbuilding with power and lighting houses plumbing for a washing machine, space for a dryer, and additional storage. The garden itself is well-maintained, with lawns, planted borders, and a garden shed. A paved patio area at the top of the garden provides a lovely spot to enjoy the sun—ideal for unwinding with a summer G&T!
Locality - Eaton Bank is a charming and peaceful hamlet situated just outside the highly sought-after village of Duffield, Derbyshire. Nestled in a picturesque rural setting, it offers a delightful blend of countryside tranquillity and convenient access to local amenities. Duffield itself is a vibrant village with a range of shops, cafés, traditional pubs, and excellent schools, including the renowned Ecclesbourne School. The area benefits from beautiful walking trails along the River Derwent and easy access to the stunning Peak District National Park. Despite its idyllic surroundings, Eaton Bank is well-connected, with Duffield’s railway station providing regular services to Derby and beyond, while major road links such as the A6 offer straightforward commuting routes. This combination of scenic beauty, village charm, and accessibility makes Eaton Bank a truly desirable place to call home.
Owner's perspective - "I moved to Duffield just over 5 years ago and have loved my time at Daisy Chain Cottage, becoming part of the community that has formed along the cul-de-sac. Although the area has a rural feel with some lovely walks right on the doorstep (namely up a bridle path that runs by the cottages) it has also been so convenient to get into Derby (in 10 minutes) as well as Belper. The train station in Duffield is also invaluable. I regularly walk into Duffield which has a number of shops, pubs and cafes, as well as Little Eaton. I’ve had a wood burner installed as well as fitting a new kitchen and decorating throughout making it into the cosy, inviting cottage it is now. Although I’m hesitant to move, I’m heading close to family."
