Lacombe is a small village in the Montagne Noire, above Carcassonne. For shopping, schools and other amenities residents have the choice of the nearby villages of Montolieu ("the village of books and arts"), Saissac with its ruined castle, and others, all within 12 kilometers. Carcassonne is much larger and is only 30 km away.
