New Quay is convenient to other coastal towns, including the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron (about seven miles), the university town of Aberystwyth (about 23 miles) and Cardigan (about 21 miles).

Carmarthen town and the A48 M4 link road is about 31 miles taking you onto South Wales (Swansea about 58 miles), Cardiff 101 miles, the Severn Bridge and into England.
