The Old Bath House, originally opened by Joseph Pickering in 1883, was used for public meetings and allowed mixed and Sunday bathing. The baths included a swimming pool with tiled sides, two slipper baths and also a shower bath, and were formally opened on the evening of Wednesday 19th September 1883. The building was later bought by his son-in-law Arthur Lodge of Wallasey in 1936 and was stop being used as a bath house in 1952, then converted into a warehouse and is now currently empty.
