The Tour
Nestled among rows of Victorian houses within the private estate of Cressington Park lies this striking mid-century modernist house. The approach is via a generous driveway set back from the road, with ample off-road parking for six cars. The house has an impressive architectural profile, with sharp geometric outlines and a combination of red brick and wood-panelled exteriors. Internally, an inviting porch leads to an expansive open-plan space encompassing living and dining areas and a kitchen, with floor-to-ceilingaluminium-framed glazing, including sliding doors that that open out onto a carefully maintained garden.
The bespoke oak kitchen has built-in cupboards, integrated Smeg appliances and a coffee maker. A seamless, poured terrazzo floor with underfloor heating runs throughout the ground floor. Handmade lighting illuminates the kitchen and dining area, and there is an oak kitchen island for bar-style dining, plus room for a large dining table. A generous hallway, which can be used as a library, leads to two well-proportioned bedrooms on the ground floor, plus a bathroom. There is an large additional room downstairs, which is currently used as a home gym.
A set of stairs rises to the first floor, where there are two more spacious bedrooms and a bathroom. Both bedrooms have built-in oak wardrobes, and in each bathroom there is a bath with a shower, and handmade Italian tiles underfoot.
The house has been thoughtfully renovated to suit modern living, and there are ceiling-mounted Bluetooth speakers throughout. All rooms have internet, TV and USB and USB-C ports, and there are planning permissions for a further upstairs bedroom or extension.
