The Property
Primrose Cottage is a Grade II Listed attached, period house dating from the 17th Century. The original cottage as seen from the front belies the fact there is 3720sq ft. of accommodation. On entering the hall with tiled floor, the heritage is clear, with exposed brickwork and timbers. The living room has parquet flooring, a working fireplace, panelling and exposed brickwork and the family room oozes charm with parquet flooring and a woodburning stove. This leads to the dining room with floor to ceiling windows providing wonderful light and beyond this is the spacious main suite consisting of generous bedroom, dressing room and bathroom en suite. A gym with double doors opening to the terrace leads to an inner hall, off which is a ground floor bedroom with shower room and a staircase leading to a first floor bedroom with bathroom en suite.
The recently fitted kitchen / breakfast room with vaulted ceiling has a range of bespoke wooden painted units and a central island. Primrose cottage was the subject of a major sympathetically created extension using oak and glass to provide light and spacious living areas including the garden room which leads off the kitchen, with double doors taking in the long distant views. A utility room, laundry and cloakroom complete the ground floor.
The entrance hall staircase leads to the first floor landing, double guest bedroom with wooden floorboards and access to loft room above, a bathroom en suite and two bedrooms.
Gardens and Grounds
Outside to the rear accessed via a solid double gate is a large paved courtyard for parking and a brick built garage, having two open bays and a secure store, above which is a useful studio. There is an impressive garden pavilion ideal for entertaining which maximises the views of the garden and long landscape beyond. The garden is mainly laid to lawn, with courtyards providing a number of areas from which to enjoy the garden. A greenhouse and a handy garden shed are notable features.
