Description

This pretty village house sits on a quiet street within walking distance of an excellent boulangerie, a grocery store and a wine and cheese shop - all bases covered! The delightful market town of Uzes is 4km away. The property has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and some beautifully spacious and light living areas. There’s also a small walled garden, covered terrace and a garage.

The property has been fully renovated and manages to strike the perfect balance between the traditional and the contemporary. Entering from the street, stairs lead you to the kitchen and a double-height dining area. A door takes you directly from the kitchen to a covered terrace, perfect for outdoor dining and apéritifs.

Next to the dining room is a spacious living room with a beautiful fireplace and wood-burning stove. The floors on this level are a contemporary blend of polished concrete, wood and tile. On this same level there is a double bedroom and a bathroom.

Stairs from the dining room lead to two guest bedrooms and a bathroom. On the upper floor there is an office space/4th bedroom.

On the lower ground floor there’s a beautifully vaulted outdoor dining area and walled garden of 50m2. There’s also a games room, workshop and garage with WC.

Location:
This house is located on a quiet street in the pretty village of Montaren-et-Saint-Médiers, 4km to the north of Uzes. Montaren has basic shops and a small market on a Sunday morning.

The bustling market town of Uzes is quintessentially French and dates back to Roman times. The town itself has cobbled streets, fine Renaissance mansions and a magnificent central square, the Place-aux-Herbes. The square is surrounded by limestone arches under which shops and restaurants spill out, all shaded by the established sycamore trees. There are two markets every week, one for fresh produce on a Wednesday and another more extensive market on a Saturday. The square is often used for antique stalls, exhibitions, art shows and the annual truffle fair!

Just a short drive from the town is the astonishing Pont du Gard, a 1st C Roman aqueduct, listed as a UNESCO World heritage site. Nîmes airport is 25km away and Montpellier is just over an hour. The beautiful Mediterranean coast is also within easy reach.
