Description
The original stone building at Mays Green Farm is believed to date back to the mid 17th Century, over the past few centuries the property has been sympathetically extended to create further living accommodation including the recent renovation of a stone outbuilding to create a one bedroom self contained annexe/studio.
The property occupies a delightful semi-rural position surrounded by open fields with just a few near neighbours for company. Approaching the Farm off Mays Green Lane there is a traditional five bar gate that provides entrance to a sweeping gravel driveway which has ample parking for a good number of vehicles, the driveway then leads on to a large 52sqm car barn.
You enter the property via a useful porch which is perfect for decamping boots and cloaks before you continue into the open plan sitting/dining room which spans some 26'0. To one end of the room lies an impressive Inglenook fireplace and to the other is a second handsome brick fireplace with an oak mantle, this incredibly atmospheric room also features a beautiful beamed ceiling and flagstone floor. From the dining room an open arch leads directly into the kitchen which is well fitted with a range of traditional styled units with a solid wood counter top and ceramic sink. A gorgeous royal blue AGA provides not only a source for cooking but also an alluring focal point, there is provision for white goods and space for a fridge freezer. A generous utility room has plumbing for additional white goods and leads to a useful ground floor shower room.
There are a further two reception rooms on the ground floor, one of which is utilised as home office/therapy room and the other a glorious sun room which also has a shower room off.
Upstairs you will find four bedrooms, all of which have their own unique character with lovely beamed ceilings and fantastic views from the windows.
OUTSIDE
Within the stunning grounds of the farm there are several excellent outbuildings including a superb, recently renovated, stone barn which provides ancillary accommodation in the form of a one bedroom annexe, perfect for a dependent relative or independent teenager. There are two idyllic shepherds huts, a spacious car barn, a handy boiler room and store attached to the farmhouse. The garden wraps around the house and includes a small orchard, level lawns, raised vegetable beds, large decked area with provision for a hot tub and even a pig pen.

WE HAVE NOTICED
The farm exudes character, from its beautiful beamed ceilings, to its flagstone floor, and impressive fireplaces, it is just about as quintessentially chocolate box as you could wish for (without the thatch)
