The village of Washford is situated on the main bus route from Minehead to Taunton, has a Post Office, Village School and there is also a station on the West Somerset Steam Railway.

In addition the County town of Taunton with main railway and motorway connections is about 17 miles to the south east whilst the North Somerset Coast, the Exmoor National Park and the beautiful Quantock Hills are all close by.
