From Inverness take the A9 road north until you come to Tore roundabout. Turn first left at the roundabout and continue on this road to Muir of Ord. On reaching the village, go past the school and at the junction take the road to the right and at Deas Bakery turn right again onto Balvaird Road. Follow the road for approximately half a mile and Fir Cottage is set back from the road on the left.
