Whitford is conveniently located only a few miles from the busy market town of Axminster, as well as being only 5 miles from the Lyme Bay coastline, a World Heritage site known as the Jurassic Coast. The pretty and desirable town of Colyton, with its beautiful Medieval Church is only 1 ¼ miles away and offers a comprehensive range of shopping and recreational amenities including a library and doctors surgery.
The renowned Colyton Grammar School, one of the country's top mixed state schools is a further mile or so. The market town of Axminster is within 4 miles and has a variety of shops, sports centre and mainline rail link to London (Waterloo). Honiton, well-known for its antique and book shops, lies some 10 miles away and has a good range of shops, schools, sports centre and mainline rail link to London as well as a twice weekly market. Exeter, the County Town, is about 26 miles to the south-west with excellent shopping facilities, theatres, main line rail link to London (Paddington), international airport and M5 access.

The Garden Cottage is a charming quintessential Grade II listed detached thatched cottage situated in the Heart of the pretty East Devon village of Whitford. The cottage origins date back to the mid 1700’s with many of its original features still remain today. The good-sized pretty gardens are in the main at the front of the cottage and are laid to lawn with established and well stocked beds and borders that provide year-round colour and interest. To the side is a further area of garden and a parking area for several vehicles. Attached to the side of the cottage is a useful large lean-to storage room which could be used as a workshop.
