Description

Grade II listed former Mill House set within 5 acres of stunning gardens

Description

The Mill House is a substantial Grade II listed country house which is believed to date back to circa 1680. Offering over 6800 sq ft of accommodation the property makes for a superb family home situated in a popular village to the north of Norwich.

The property is entered by a large hallway leading to two of the three reception rooms. The drawing room with attractive bay window and feature fireplace sits adjacent to the formal dining room with a double aspect and further fireplace. A third reception room is an ideal TV room, home office or perhaps childrens playroom.
The kitchen/breakfast room contains bespoke wooden cabinetry and an AGA which embodies the country lifestyle and charm of the house. The ground floor is completed via a useful pantry, utility room, boot room and cloakroom.
To the first floor are five bedrooms including the principal suite. This principal room benefits from a four piece en suite as well as a dressing room which could be a further bedroom if required. Bedroom two also contains an en suite with the remaining rooms on this level being served via a family bathroom.

The second floor comprises of two further double bedrooms, another large family bathroom and then two spacious, multi-purpose rooms . These have been used as a games room and play area by our current sellers and this top floor makes for an excellent space for older children to enjoy and utilise.

Outside
The Mill House stands proud within a plot of about 5 acres and features two parking areas. One to the rear of the property with space for two smaller cars and a large area to the north with space for several vehicles as well as two garages for secure parking and storage. From this parking area is a most delightful walk to the property via a bridge over the stream as well as a pathway. The gardens which are mainly laid to lawn are both mature and feature several areas of interest to enjoy. With a mixture of shrubs, woodland and terracing as well as kitchen garden, there is plenty for a purchaser to relish. In particular a series of ponds sets the scene for the Mill House’s tranquil surroundings.
