'We were looking for a period house. The house had to be big enough for all our guests and entertaining. It had to be no more than a 10-minute walk into town. It had to have plenty of parking. The ideal location was the tree lined section of Battenhall Road but for this we had to wait as there were so few opportunities. It had to have a great private garden and be in a peaceful location. Before I had even finished walking up the drive, I decided to buy it and put in a full asking price offer there and then. The house had a warm period feel about it , lots of period features with few compromises. It has not disappointed. For me it was the perfect house, and perfect location.'
With its sweeping driveway and leafy aspect, it’s easy to understand the current owners’ initial feelings.
