Description

Odeon Luxe Holloway, originally the Gaumont, was built in 1938. The property was designed by the prominent American architect C. Howard Crane. It is a Grade II listed building and was originally built as a 3,006 seat auditorium, including a 220 seat restaurant above the foyer entrance. Its first film was shown on the 5th September 1938 (The Hurricane). The cinema was renamed Odeon in 1963 and in 1973 was converted into three screens.

The cinema was renamed to Odeon Luxe in 2019, following a substantial multi-million pound investment to recline the current seven screen cinema into the operation it is today. It is built of a steel frame, with concrete and brick rendered elevations with a mix of flat and pitched roofing.

The cinema comprises of 499 fully reclined seats across 7 screens and is arranged over 3 floors in addition to a full height basement. There are 6 retail units fronting Holloway Road, one of which is occupied with Odeon considering underletting the remainder which are currently vacant.

The property extends to an approximate Adjusted GIA of 52,215 sq ft (4,851 sq m) excluding the basement and third floor plant area.
