Description

A stunning Mill with garden and outbuilding situated on the beautiful River Kennet.

Description

Tucked away in an enviable position, at the end of a lane which houses only a small number of properties, sits Padworth Mill in a wonderful tranquil position by the River Kennet. The Mill is unlisted and has been beautifully restored in recent years by the current owners and features internally the workings of the mill including the working wheel, with the millstream running through. This has been enclosed and glazed, making an impressive central feature both from the kitchen area and from the landing via a glass floor panel.
Many original features have been retained including exposed timber beams and brick walls and much thought has gone into creating a wonderful character home yet with the benefits of modern day living requirements.
On the ground floor is a spacious kitchen / breakfast area which is an excellent space for entertaining with integrated appliances and a sizeable central island with seating and French doors out to the enclosed garden. There are two reception rooms, one of which is used as a dining room and one as a sitting room. There is also a downstairs WC as well as a laundry cupboard.
The first floor offers versatility, with the principal bedroom having sliding doors which can be opened to the landing if a more open feel is desired, or closed for privacy. There is a well appointed en suite to the principal bedroom. Two further bedrooms are served by the family bathroom. A fourth bedroom with en suite shower room is on the top floor.

OUTSIDE
On approaching the Mill down the lane, there is a sizeable parking area to the right, with a gate through to the main garden, at the end of which sits the Mill. The enclosed garden is secluded and houses a substantial 20’ shed with double doors to a raised veranda overlooking the garden. The garden has a number of mature shrubs and offers three seating areas, ideal for entertaining.
