Outbuildings include a light-filled room currently used as a gym, a wash/boot room, a large shed for mower storage, and a smaller outbuilding over the stream. Entrance gates open to parking for up to six vehicles, with direct access to the courtyard from the road.
Location
Nestled in the peaceful Herefordshire countryside, the village of Titley offers a quiet charm and a strong sense of community. It boasts a rich history, the welcoming Stagg Inn pub, a well-kept village hall with regular events and classes, the Titley Pool Nature Reserve, and St Peter’s Church. Surrounded by hills and ancient springs, the village is well connected to walking routes, including the Mortimer Trail which links to the Offa’s Dyke Path. Scenic cycling routes are also plentiful. A vibrant network of local artists adds to the area’s appeal, with the Sidney Nolan Trust nearby, alongside galleries, potters, and a range of musical events. Titley is equidistant (three miles) from the market towns of Kington and Presteigne, offering access to doctors, dentists, independent shops, and small supermarkets. The larger towns of Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow are around 35 minutes away by car, with Hereford approximately 40 minutes and Leominster 25 minutes.
Walk Inside
The front door opens into a porch, leading to the main entrance hall. To the left, an archway reveals the first reception room with two sash windows (with seats and shutters), a log burner in a fireplace, and an arched alcove with fitted bookcases, cupboards, and a desk. From here, two steps lead up to face the main staircase, which runs to the attic and Bedroom 1. On the right, two steps descend to the cloakroom and cellar door. A fitted bookcase and swing door lead into the Victorian section of the house. To the left of the hallway is a spacious Georgian reception room, currently unused, but previously a drawing or games room. It features tall sash windows, shutters, and a large fireplace.
Downstairs Victorian/ right hand side
A door leads to the Victorian reception rooms off a quarry-tiled hallway. On the left, a family room opens onto the terrace through three sash windows refashioned into doors. It has an open fire. To the right is the dining room, with three large sash windows facing the church, a fireplace with an old range and antique tiles, and tall built-in cupboards. Parquet flooring is warmed by underfloor heating. At the corridor’s end, the kitchen features a Belfast sink, fitted dishwasher and coffee machine, and stainless-steel shelving. Opposite is a generous larder/prep room with many original features. A door leads out to the walled courtyard and the annexe entrance on the right. On the left outbuildings used as a utility/boot room and gym space.

The main staircase rises to a half landing with garden access, and then a split-level landing where Georgian meets Victorian. A further half landing features a large arched window and leads to Bedroom 2 and, up another flight, Bedroom 1 in the attic. Bedroom 2 is a large, bright room with high ceilings, sash windows, a marble fireplace, en-suite shower room, and freestanding slipper bath. Bedroom 1 is an unexpectedly spacious attic suite, beginning with a dressing area and fitted wardrobes. The raised platform area features a rolltop bath, vanity, and storage. Exposed beams give a cosy feel, and further attic storage is available.
.
Returning to the main landing, Bedroom 3 offers a Georgian space with large sash windows overlooking the church, a fireplace, and two additional doors—one leading to a walk-in wardrobe, the other to a small windowed room with shelving. The en-suite bathroom features a slipper bath, antique sink and fittings, and a large sash window. A few steps lead up to the Victorian section. Bedroom 4, a handsome room next to a walk-in dressing room, has garden views, a fireplace, sash windows, and a bright en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 5 is a double room with a fireplace and exceptional church views through its sash windows. A door from the landing opens to a short corridor ending in a large window and the back stairs. On the left is the door to the bathroom shared with Bedroom 4, followed by a housekeeper’s cupboard with an original sink. On the right, Bedroom 6 offers a double room with fireplace and sash windows, and a large en-suite with walk-in shower, cupboards, and airing cupboard.
Annexe
A beautifully renovated one-bedroom annexe full of charm and character throughout. A glass door opens into the welcoming living space, where a staircase rises to the first floor. To the right, an opening leads into the shaker-style kitchen, complete with integrated appliances and thoughtfully designed finishes. The staircase leads to an open galleried landing. To the right is the bedroom, featuring a delightful cross-timber window that adds to the annexe’s unique character. To the left is a well-appointed bathroom, completing this stylish and comfortable living space. Outside, the annexe benefits from a charming, cobbled courtyard — a perfect spot for sitting out and enjoying the sun in peaceful surroundings.
Walk Outside
The beautifully landscaped gardens are a standout feature, providing a peaceful, picturesque setting that complements the home’s historic character. At the heart of the garden is a croquet lawn and a striking Copper Beech tree, with formal hedging providing structure and sightlines. A brook winds through the garden, providing a natural division and the soothing sound of water. The classic greenhouse sits alongside old brick garden walls, gates and meandering paths. Though private and secluded in feel, the gardens enjoy open countryside views.
