Description

Berry and George Estates formed to make selling and buying your home much easier. The best way to differentiate us from all other estate agents is, we open 7 days a week and we're also available out of hours - it's that simple! We'll provide you with updates when your home is on the market waiting to be sold and then we'll continue to update you once a sale has been agreed.

We do the same as all other estate agents, we just do it that much better. How? Easy, we have better photos, a better more detailed write-up, honest opinion, we're open longer and we have normal down to earth people working with us, just like you! It's really easy to be so much better...all backed up by our fantastic Google reviews.

We completely understand just how stressful selling and buying can be as we too have been there in your shoes. We know that with the right local family business behind you every step of the way throughout this process, you'll see how much easier it is for you when you choose Berry and George Estates to help make your move better.

It's your money at the end of the day, all I try to do is help point you in the right direction - but I'd call Beth, my wife, Voted Mortgage Broker of the year for the past three years for Free Mortgage Advice, just Google 'LoveMortgages Mold' and read their fabulous reviews, which back this up.

Pantymwyn truly is one of the jewels in Flintshire's crown, having everything you could want in a Village and yet lying within a 5 minute drive of Mold with all its opportunities for shopping, leisure and the ever tempting twice weekly market.

That it is also chocolate box pretty and surrounded by stunning scenery is simply a bonus, making it the "go to" village for many discerning house hunters. It is therefore no surprise that when homes in the village become available they are snapped up in short order, all the more unsurprising when they offer accommodation that is as attractive, quirky, versatile and as interesting as this one, so if this is your destination of choice, hurry up and give us a call.

Sitting in an elevated position at the top of a sloping and very private drive, this home enjoys enchanting views down over the village and is just a short walk from both Mold Golf Club and the rightly popular Crown Inn.

Beside the long driveway, is a well stocked garden of mature trees which melds into a terraced section filled with decorative gravel, as we near the more formal front garden. At the top of the drive is a sizeable turning area, allowing vehicles to manoeuvre in front of the garage and overlooking this space, is a raised sitting area also containing the greenhouse to encourage those of a horticultural bent.

Opening the semi glazed white UPVC front door we step into the inner hall, with its eminently practical ceramic tiled floor.

To our immediate right is a pair of fully glazed doors opening into the main lounge where the bay window overlooks the charming front garden, with its many little seating hideaways providing the perfect sun trap. For those able to tear themselves away from the window, the main focal point of the room is provided by the raw brick fire surround; rather redolent of the 1970s.

On the other side of the hall lies the formal dining room, or if you prefer, a secondary lounge. This is slightly smaller, but still enjoys the same views and has the added benefit of a seriously large log burning stove set into a traditional raw stone fireplace. Now, this would not look out of place in a remake of Robin Hood, this feeling being underlined by the beamed ceiling. In here, as in the lounge, the heating is supplemented by a newly fitted electric storage heater where thankfully, technological advances mean these are not the power-hungry monsters of yesteryear and may be used freely without consulting the bank first.

From here we pass into the kitchen where we find a reprise of the ceramic floor from the hall and which, in spite of not being in the first flush of youth, provides everything you could really want or need, just perhaps not in this year's colours. Actually, I always feel that a kitchen that needs a little updating is no bad thing, as this is frequently near the top of any buyer's 'to do' list and so will be altered anyway. As it stands it offers an 'L' shaped configuration of fitted units to two of the walls, providing a wealth of storage and work surface and containing a cooker, sink unit and washing machine, while the tall fridge freezer is located on the inner wall beside a free standing Welsh Dresser.

The back door opens into a narrow passage formed between the home and the raised earth where the home nestles into the hillside. There is a dry stone build coal shed, the roof of which is no longer present but the renovation of which would form an interesting and not too challenging project. Further along the rear wall of the home is a door opening into the back of the garage which, equipped with power and light, is ideal for storage or, and here is a novel idea, you could even put the car in there!!

This pathway continues alongside the garage and back to the front turning area where there is a set of stone steps up to the terrace containing the greenhouse. In front of this is a pleasant sitting area, perfect for taking in the view with a drink when the attractions of potting out your tomatoes begins to pall.

At the far end of the greenhouse another flight of stone steps takes us up to the garden's higher level, a journey that Attenborough himself would appreciate. In fact it is easy to imagine him waist deep in foliage cuddling a silverback... However other possibilities for this area are even easier to imagine, offering the chance to make a garden of real beauty and more importantly, interest.

Returning indoors and climbing the stairs, we are faced with a small dead end corridor with a large window and where it is easy to imagine an elderly Victorian lady hunched over her needlepoint.

Turning right from here we find overlooking the front garden the first of the bedrooms. This is a well proportioned double room perfectly positioned to take advantage of the view and big enough to allow all the free standing furniture you could need. Though how necessary this is remains debatable as masses of storage can be found in the huge fitted wardrobes almost filling one wall.

Opposite here lies the family bathroom, which if I am honest, like the kitchen could perhaps benefit from a bit of a refresh. Or could it? If you favour the slightly sterile atmosphere to be found in many modern homes the answer is yes but here, in a far older and more idiosyncratic home, it simply fits in and feels right, so at the end of the day, it's all down to personal choice. Meanwhile you are treated to a comfortably large room with a pedestal hand basin, lavatory and traditional bath with an electric shower above, while in one corner is a usefully large airing cupboard housing the immersion heater.

Moving once again past the head of the stairs we come to the second bedroom, another deceptively large double room. In here there is space for twin bedside cabinets, a large free standing wardrobe, occasional chair and an 'L' shaped corner unit providing plenty of drawer space while doubling as a vanity unit/dressing table.

And at the head of the landing is the principal bedroom where again we find space for twin bedside cabinets along with various tables and display units, a free standing chest of drawers and a large pair of wardrobes connected by overhead cupboards and with further drawers and a vanity unit beneath. In short, even the most fastidious amongst us would be catered for and there remains the view. It is the first thing you would see on waking in the morning and would make this a very easy place to fall in love with.

All in all this is a quirky home steeped in character; the sort of home that Agatha Christie almost gave a bad name, where evil lurks beneath the surface or at least, it does till Poirot arrives when flower bloom, the sun shines and all is well. With its log burning stove and gardens redolent of summer picnics, it is a place to dream and soak up its unique atmosphere. Its three double bedrooms provide comfortable accommodation for most family configurations and the separate dining room allows that family to spread out as they need. Its location in one of the area's most desirable villages, a short walk from the golf club and a five minute drive from Mold town centre make up the icing on the cake. If "interesting" is your thing, this could very well be the one for you.
