Located to the north of the cathedral city of Winchester, the historic village of East Stratton lies in a conservation area 2 miles to the north-east of the village of Micheldever in Hampshire. The amenities of East Stratton include an excellent pub with its village green called the Northbrook Arms, and church, with the nearby village of Micheldever also providing a thriving community with a good primary school, and the well regarded Half Moon & Spread Eagle public house. Micheldever station is only 3.5 miles from East Stratton and provides an excellent train service to London Waterloo in just under 1 hour.

The cathedral city of Winchester to the south offers a broader range of shops and facilities, with excellent restaurants and superb schooling including St Swithun’s School for Girls, Winchester College and Peter Symonds Sixth Form College. There are also excellent pre-prep and preparatory schools by way of Pilgrims, Twyford and Princes Mead.

Winchester offers an excellent rail service to London Waterloo, and nearby junction 7 of the M3 gives access to the A34, London and the south coast via the M27. The A303 towards Devon and Cornwall is about 4 miles distant. Southampton International Airport is within a short drive and Bournemouth Airport is also within easy reach. Sporting facilities in the area include golf at a number of local courses; there are several bridleways and public footpaths in the immediate area that provide excellent walking and hacking country, in particular Coffin Walk that runs between East Stratton and Micheldever. Fishing is possible on the nearby Hampshire chalk streams, notably the famous River Itchen.
