Situation
The village of Friston is situated at the end of the South Downs Way, approximately five miles west of Eastbourne. Residents are lucky to have some of Sussex’s most iconic sights on the doorstep, including Beachy Head, the enclosed beach at Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters Cliffs. Nearby Eastbourne town has a more extensive range of day-to-day amenities including a Waitrose supermarket and a fantastic, regular bus service all along the coast and inland. Brighton is just 17 miles away with an eclectic collection of independent and high street stores, restaurants, bars and cafes. Transport links are excellent with the M23/A23 providing good access to Gatwick and the national motorway network. Both Seaford and Eastbourne stations (both 5 miles) have services to Brighton, Gatwick and London. Within the local area there are many highly regarded schools and colleges, including two local prep schools in Eastbourne, St Andrews and Bede's, along with Eastbourne College, Chailey Secondary School, Ardingly, Lancing and Brighton Colleges and Cumnor House. There is excellent walking and riding within the South Downs National Park, sailing on the South Coast and opera at Glyndebourne.
