The absence of shops or a pub in the village means no through traffic, and the sense of peace and stillness is immediate. ‘You’re only a short drive to Bath, Bristol or the M4, but it feels like a world away,’ the owners note.

‘The community is an incredibly friendly one with low-key annual events, like a concert in the church followed by food. People genuinely look out for each other – we’ve never been short of offers to put the bins out when we’re away.’

‘The living room is our favourite space – thick stone walls keep it cool in summer, and the log burner makes it feel so warm in winter. There's even a hidden desk tucked behind cupboards – great for working from home.’
