Description

This iconic, versatile coastal property is situated in this sought-after quaint village, nestled within an AONB and bordered by fields. A hidden gem, offering uninterrupted views of the natural surroundings and combining period features with modern living. Convenient access to village amenities and the beach.

The main residence, Meadow Cottage, exudes timeless charm in part dating back to, it is believed, the 17th Century, with its part-thatched roof and distinctive rustic appeal combined with modern comforts. The property's layout has been thoughtfully arranged to showcase its period features, with the ground floor comprising a welcoming open entrance hallway leading to a light-filled day room that connects seamlessly with a south-facing terrace ideal for outdoor entertaining. A well-appointed kitchen with a central island and a cosy dining room with a wood burner complete the main house's ground floor. The centerpiece of the home is the stunning vaulted sitting room, boasting a wood burner and open galleried landing, and a wealth of exposed beams. This floor also includes a cloakroom and a convenient utility room.

A statement slate-tread staircase leads to the first floor, featuring a galleried landing with stunning oak balustrade. Here, three double bedrooms, one with a dressing room, two offering breathtaking views of the sea and the third, village, and surrounding hillsides.

The master bedroom, accessed via a further oak and glass galleried landing, has sliding doors opening to a decked balcony overlooking the lush gardens. The attractive en-suite benfits a free-standing bath and shower, while a separate family bathroom and a shower room cater to the comfort of residents and guests.

The property also includes a self-contained 3-bedroom cottage, Greenfield Cottage, currently utilised as a successful holiday let accommodation. This cottage provides flexible options, either as part of the main house to create an 7-bedroom residence or as a standalone space for supplemental letting or guest accommodation. The open plan kitchen/living/dining room and a cloakroom on the ground floor offer versatility and convenience, complemented by a single garage and a guest seating area that seamlessly integrates with the main garden if required.

The outdoor space is a hallmark of this property, featuring a south-facing garden with a heated swimming pool (via air source and with recently fitted filtration system), purpose-built studio, and various inviting seating areas. There is a separate changing room/gym plus wet room adjacent to the pool.

The attractive purpose-built studio offers a vaulted ceiling and can serve as an additional bedroom, office, gym, or studio, overlooking the swimming pool. The property's outdoor amenities are further enhanced by a bespoke potting shed that doubles as an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area, enhancing the experience of outdoor living.

To the front of the property, a footpath leads to the beach, while a large double garage across the path from the main property offers ample storage, workshop space, or conversion potential (available by separate negotiation). Beyond the double garage there is a large parking area within which Meadow Cottage rents one space at a rental of £138 per month.

There is parking for numerous cars on a resin driveway, beneath the car port between Meadow Cottage and Greenfield Cottage.
