Lodger(s) are free to pop into the main house to hang out, but have plenty of personal space, and a real sense of their own place and home within the property. NB: As we are a family home, DBS checks are required on all housemates. We can advise on how to get this if you've never had to do one before- it's quite easy to do.
Currently, the annex also houses our home office which is accessed up the same stairs as the bedroom. We use the office during the working week but like to give space to our lodgers during evenings and weekends. There is a further shared workshop room, chest freezer and washer drier in the garage section of the annex. (NB: There is an option to rent the whole annex including the office, making it 2 bedrooms and no overlap space. This would be 1950 per month- 450 extra for the second room upstairs).
