The history

Casamonti is located in the heart of Chianti, near Castellina, in an area inhabited since Etruscan times. The earliest written records date back to the Middle Ages when it was owned by the Church and also served as a spiritual refuge for friars. Over the centuries, it passed through various owners until it was purchased in 1953 by a family who carried out agricultural and architectural renewal, preserving the traditional character, expanding vineyards and olive groves, and introducing the breeding of the Cinta Senese.

The land

The property extends over approximately 89 hectares, including about 14 hectares of vineyards registered under Chianti Classico DOCG and IGT Toscana, 6 hectares of olive groves, 40 hectares of arable land and pastures, along with woods that complete the environmental balance of the area. The soil, of galestro-clay origin, well-exposed and draining, is excellently suited for the cultivation of vines and olives.
