Historic charming villa, immersed in the stunning Chianti countryside

In the heart of the Chianti hills, immersed in a timeless landscape, lies the Casamonti estate, a place where at every step one breathes the harmony between history and nature.

The main villa, spread over two floors and arranged around a central courtyard, preserves the features of the traditional Tuscan farmhouse, made of natural stone, brick arches, and details that tell centuries of history. Once the operational heart of agricultural life, it now tells the passage of time through its solid shapes and ancient walls, while keeping its authentic soul alive. The interior spaces are spacious and articulated, and the openings to the outside frame views of the surrounding landscape, among vineyards, olive trees, and woods.

Next to the main villa is a workshop dedicated to the production of the prized Cinta Senese, a living testimony to the estate’s agricultural vocation. A little further on, in a secluded yet harmoniously integrated position within the landscape, there is a swimming pool that completes the main residential area, offering a relaxing space with open views over the hills.

Adjacent to the main building, a short distance away but an integral part of the complex, there is a second two-level building. Its origins are linked to agricultural activity: it was once a stable and hayloft, but today it retains only part of that function, transforming into a valuable architectural element ready to accommodate new uses. Next to this building is a second swimming pool, further enhancing the possibility of outdoor living in complete privacy.

The history

Casamonti is located in the heart of Chianti, near Castellina, in an area inhabited since Etruscan times. The earliest written records date back to the Middle Ages when it was owned by the Church and also served as a spiritual refuge for friars. Over the centuries, it passed through various owners until it was purchased in 1953 by a family who carried out agricultural and architectural renewal, preserving the traditional character, expanding vineyards and olive groves, and introducing the breeding of the Cinta Senese.

The land

The property extends over approximately 89 hectares, including about 14 hectares of vineyards registered under Chianti Classico DOCG and IGT Toscana, 6 hectares of olive groves, 40 hectares of arable land and pastures, along with woods that complete the environmental balance of the area. The soil, of galestro-clay origin, well-exposed and draining, is excellently suited for the cultivation of vines and olives.
