Description

A detached five bedroom family home, with generous accommodation and a large rear garden.

Description

Hilbre is a lovely five bedroom detached family home, located in the popular South Oxfordshire village of Kidmore End. The property has been extended and improved by the current owners during their tenure, to provide generous accommodation and flexible living areas for the whole family. The property is set back from the village road and is located on a large plot, with an extensive rear garden.

Upon entering, a long entrance hall provides access to all rooms on the ground floor. To the front of the home is a study and a family room which is currently being used as a snug. The largest reception room and the most social area is the kitchen. It was extended in 2016 to create a bigger and more practical square space.

The kitchen is made of solid oak and was designed by a local company in Checkendon to create a great open-plan layout. It’s finishes include a wood-effect tiled floor, neutral wooden wall and base units and silver Silestone work surfaces. An electric aga is central to the kitchen and sits adjacent to the island. There is also ample space for an eight seater dining table and a skylight provides a great amount of natural light.

Off the kitchen is a separate utility which has been finished to the same standard as the kitchen and a large cloakroom. The cloakroom also has existing plumbing for a shower if a buyer would like a ground floor bathroom. The ground floor is completed with an additional lounge with a feature fireplace and French doors providing access out to the rear patio of the garden.

On the first floor are five generous bedrooms and three bathrooms. The principal bedroom sits to the rear of the property with views over the rear garden and an en suite which his a bath, shower unit and a large vanity unit. It also has underfloor heating. Bedroom 2 also includes an en-suite and the main family bathroom sits off the spacious landing. There is also a large loft, which has been fully boarded, insulated and due to the design of the roof trusses offers ample storage.

Outside
The property is set back from the main road and is accessed via a shingled driveway, with parking for multiple vehicles and an electric vehicle charger point. The garage is accessed from the driveway and provides ample storage.

The extensive rear garden is a particular feature of the home and the total plot is approximately 0.33 acres. Off the rear of the home is a patio for summer dining and then the large garden is predominantly laid to lawn with mature trees and borders. The garden is sectioned via a summerhouse which was built in 2014. The outbuilding has full connected power, broadband and underfloor heating and could be used as a home gym or office space. Beyond there the garden continues with additional lawn and wilding areas. The bottom of the garden has views over neighbouring agricultural land.
