Description
home in the highly desirable village of Drakes Broughton. Greenfields Close was built during the
developments of the 1960s and 70s. It occupies a place at the heart of the village and looks out
onto a green space with mature trees. Opposite the Close is a small shopping outlet, which
includes a supermarket and post office.
The property occupies an enviable corner plot and has a generous garden. It is not part of an
ongoing chain. It has been extended over the years but would benefit from some modernisation
and TLC. The property offers much potential to expand and improve further to create a superb
modern family home. To the front of the property is a widened driveway and detached garage.
Both the extended lounge, featuring a custom-built fireplace and alcove area, and the dining
room or study lead off from the large hallway. There is a separate breakfast room or fourth
bedroom, from which can be accessed a cloakroom with shower as well as a galley style kitchen.
A generously sized conservatory at the gable end of the property overlooks the sizeable garden to
the side and rear. Upstairs three bedrooms lead off from the landing, with a family bathroom and
separate toilet. A boiler is located at the top of the stairs, with enclosed shelving. All main
services are connected. There is gas fired central heating and multi fuel stoves can be found
within the property. The rear of the property is surrounded by a raised patio area. Steps lead
down into the garden where there are a number of specimen shrubs and trees. There is lots to
explore, with paved walkways, raised and sunken beds, a small pond, timber garden stores and
two greenhouses. The garden can be accessed through a gate to the side of the property and
there is also a courtesy door from the garage.
A popular residential village, Drakes Broughton is nestled between the A44 and B4084 from
Worcester to Pershore on the edge of the picturesque Vale of Evesham. It boasts a mini shopping
area, a 12th century church, as well as two pubs and a recreation ground and children's play area
adjacent to a village hall. The school, St Barnabas, is a pre-school, first and middle and feeds
directly into Pershore High School a short drive away. Drakes Broughton has excellent transport
links. There is a regular bus service and the recently opened Worcestershire Parkway has
significantly improved Worcestershire's connectivity to outlying regions. The close proximity of
the M5 brings cities such as Birmingham and Bristol within an easily commutable distance. The
village is well situated to access many areas of outstanding natural beauty and interest. The
charming villages and towns of the Cotswolds are a short drive away and the Malvern Hills and
nearby Bredon Hill provide breathtaking views and the opportunity for walking or cycling. The
City of Worcester to the north offers city centre shopping and retail parks, with leisure and
entertainment as well as the spectacular cathedral and county cricket. To the south can be found
delightful and historic towns such as Stratford-Upon-Avon and Cheltenham, which offer
entertainment, sport and premium shopping facilities. The nearby market town of Pershore is a
short journey away by car and equally accessible either by walking or cycling. It offers high street
shopping, with a supermarket and unique, independent shops. Amongst its facilities are a leisure
complex (which includes a swimming pool and gym), a community arts and entertainment centre,
library and banking hub. In addition, the town boasts excellent educational opportunities. The
highly regarded Pershore High School is nearby and Pershore College, conveniently located,
specialises in horticultural education.
The property at Greenfields Close offers excellent potential. It is superbly located whether you
are looking to commute, enjoy leisure and retail facilities or just want to relax in the peace and
quiet of the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.
