Description

A charming Georgian house in this pretty hamlet, available for the first time in over 40 years.

Description

A charming Georgian house located on the edge of this pretty hamlet, The Old Bell has origins dating to the late 1700’s and is Grade II listed. Hallmark Georgian features include 16 pane sash windows and pretty four panel front door with over light and flat hood.

With herringbone parquet floors the hall opens to two reception rooms; the triple aspect sitting room with bay window and open fireplace, and the dining room with original quarry tiled floor. Also on the ground floor; a study and playroom/snug. The kitchen, with AGA and views of the garden, leads to a downstairs shower room, WC, and utility/boot room with access to the garden. On the first floor the house offers 4 bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Outside, mature gardens to the side and rear of the property extend to about 0.9 acres. With a terrace area to the side and rear of the house, there are fruit and vegetable gardens and an orchard leads down to the Cuttle Brook, a complete haven. There is off street parking to side of the property and a useful timber outbuilding provides stores and potting shed.

This much-loved family home has been in the same ownership for over forty years and, in need of some updating, is a rarely available opportunity for incoming owners.
