Description
Within walking distance of the River Dart and the Stoke Gabriel Boating Association it is a perfect location for sailors and easy to keep a Dingy/Rib on the shoreline.
The property is reached from a shared driveway which provides access to its parking and garages. From here are steps up to the house and the terrace which wraps around it, and one enters into a spacious hallway with striking maple flooring (from a decommissioned ballroom) which extends throughout most of the property. On the left is a study/home office, and straight ahead is the dining room which is a bright room benefitting from French windows onto the wonderful south facing sun terrace, and with a door to the sun room.
Off this is the large sitting room which has a striking black marble fireplace with coal effect gas fire (NB the flue is still open) and plenty of space for relaxing and also dining. There are sliding doors out to the terrace and once again it benefits from wonderful natural light.
The kitchen, which has a hatch through to the dining room is fully fitted with wall and floor units and has an integrated Neff hob, built in eye level Zanussi double ovens, an eye level microwave and integrated Beko dish washer.
Further along the hallway is a large utility room with sink and fitted units plus plenty of space for a washing machine, dryer, a further fridge etc if required.
There are four double bedrooms, with the principal being en suite with generous fitted wardrobes and superb views over the village. Next to this is the family bathroom and then there are a further 3 bedrooms.
There is a spacious part boarded loft with electric.
Outside
The south facing terrace provides far reaching views over the village, and has been carefully designed with different ‘rooms’, so there is a lovely cosy area for relaxing and dining outside the kitchen, a further area outside the sitting room and then it wraps around the property with a large open terrace to the front door. There are also steps down to lower patio where there is a useful workshop/gym with Butler’s sink and electricity. From here is a secondary access to the two garages upon which the house sits, and provide great parking and storage.
The lower garden, where there is a large and very private wooden deck which is a perfect BBQ area, is reached from the main terrace via a bespoke timber staircase. From here various paths run through the garden down to the end of the drive.
