Sellers Story - When we started house hunting in 2021, Holly Grove was the "mystery house" my husband discovered – and it was far more stunning than anything I had ever imagined. From the moment I stepped into its grand entrance hall and saw the elegant yet cozy fireplace in the sitting room, I was completely captivated. We both instantly knew this was "the one." The surrounding fields offer peaceful, scenic dog walks in our quiet, friendly village, which also boasts a quaint local pub. We've spent five incredibly happy years here, and it's only a work relocation that's prompting our move.
In the cooler months, the sitting room is our haven. Its magnificent fireplace and beautiful outlook onto the garden and fields create a truly special atmosphere. We love cozying up by the roaring log fire in winter, and at Christmas, it transforms into the perfect setting for treasured family memories. When summer arrives, the orangery becomes our favourite spot. With the bi-fold doors fully open, looking out over the pond and into the fields beyond, it's an incredibly relaxing and picturesque location – truly an oasis after a long day.
One of our most cherished memories is a special family birthday party we hosted in the summer of 2023. It was a perfect day, and our spacious patio was the ideal setting for a BBQ. The children had a blast playing hide-and-seek in the garden, while our cocker spaniels happily chased each other around the pond. Later that afternoon, we enjoyed a leisurely walk through the fields behind the house. We ended the evening gathered around the firepit in the garden, toasting marshmallows under the stars, while the adults relaxed with a few glasses of wine in the orangery before everyone retired to our three comfortable double guest bedrooms for the night.
We've truly loved the simple everyday moments, especially gathering around the kitchen island. It's where we've shared countless stories about our day while one of us prepares dinner – it's the heart of our home.
We'll deeply miss the peace and quiet of the village and the effortless joy of entertaining guests in the garden during the summer months. We'll also miss the warmth and laughter of large family Christmas dinners in the dining room, followed by relaxing evenings gathered by the stunning fireplace. Our move is solely due to relocation, otherwise, we'd happily stay in this wonderful home.
