It belongs to the Northern Region (NUTS II) and the Douro Sub-region (NUTS III).

This region has been gaining a lot of international credibility, due to its characteristics of the vineyards from which the much-appreciated wine is extracted. Of which the most notable is the Moscatel de Favaios.
