Freehold

Description

A fantastic detached Victorian property with very well proportioned and light rooms, three double bedrooms, and an absolutely delightful garden.

THE PROPERTY
Situated in a prominent position in one of Bridport's most sought-after locations, first glimpses of number 19 Crock Lane are most impressive with its most attractive façade constructed of red brick under a pitched slate roof.
On first entering this wonderful property there is a real sense of charm, space and light, with a large hall with pretty original Victorian tiling and high ceilings, a fine example of why this period of architecture is so popular.
Just off the hall is a superb and perfectly proportioned sitting room with a central wood burning stove and tall windows looking over the pretty front garden. Worth a special mention in the fabulous open plan kitchen/breakfast room and family room, exemplifying modern living and forming a perfect hub to the house. Wooden steps lead up from the family room to the kitchen incorporating a number of wooden units and a four ringed cooker and oven. It also has pretty tiled flooring and plenty of room for a kitchen/dining table. There are large windows boasting superb views over the most delightful garden, and a large storage area alongside. To the other side is a conservatory/lean-to utility and storage area and direct access to the garden and paved terrace, ideal for a morning cup of coffee.
The principal bedrooms are situated on the first floor, with three in total including a good-sized main bedroom with an en suite shower room. The second bedroom also has a wash basin and is a very good size. To the other end is a bedroom/study and family bathroom.
There is a very pretty garden to the front of the house, well stocked and established. The main garden lies to the rear of the property which is private and an absolute delight. Stone steps lead up to a lawned area and eating terrace, and then a further raised lawned area, ideal for children and animals. There is a greenhouse and raised vegetable bed. The views from the garden are superb, especially from the large shed/workshop with electric & internet connections and its own paved terrace. This would also make a fantastic office/studio, and takes full advantage of the superb elevated position. Two hundred yards, a short walk from the house, is also a separate garage, but with easy on street parking directly to the front of the house.
All in all, this is a truly fantastic property in an idyllic yet very convenient location.

LOCATION
Crock Lane is tucked away a short walk from the heart of the bustling market town of Bridport, and within walking distance of local primary and secondary schools, West Bay and the famous Jurassic Coastline, a World Heritage site. Bridport is a most attractive Georgian town that retains an excellent number of independent shops and restaurants and a thriving street market on Saturdays and Wednesdays. A choice of supermarkets is available in or around the town including a Waitrose and Morrisons. There is a cottage hospital, a large medical centre, a popular leisure centre, a successful Arts Centre, two theatres, and a number of independent festivals involving the arts are held throughout the year.

Much of the countryside is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where strict planning controls apply to preserve its special character. West Bay is a popular small seaside resort with harbour, shops, restaurants and attractive beach. The Dorset coast is now recognised as a World Heritage Site.

A further wider range of amenities, including a mainline railway station to London Waterloo can be found at the County Town of Dorchester, or Crewkerne.
